Job summary

The Climate Change Authority in Canberra is seeking an APS5 Engagement Officer to plan and operationalise community outreach and engagement that supports the Authority’s purpose.

You will coordinate stakeholder engagement activities, support the CEO, Chair and Members, maintain stakeholder records, and help develop digital content and communications. Flexible working arrangements, including work from home, are available subject to operational requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in stakeholder engagement and event coordination.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and manage competing priorities.
• Relevant tertiary education or proven industry experience in outreach/engagement, communications, public relations or events.
• Proven ability to work with diverse communities, including with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support stakeholder engagement activities, including workshops, roundtables, meetings, consultations and events.
• Support implementation of the Authority’s Stakeholder Engagement Strategy.
• Provide administrative and user support for the Authority's digital engagement platform, Converlens.
• Develop and coordinate communication products, including web content, stakeholder communication, presentations, publications and digital content.
• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation and reporting on communication and engagement activities, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Contribute to branch priorities and undertake other communication and engagement projects and activities as required.
