  • Are you passionate about turning daily operational and fresh food challenges into creative opportunities that deliver an exceptional shopping experience for our customers?
About The Role

Being a Store Manager at Woolworths is more than just running a store; it's your opportunity to inspire and lead a large, dynamic team with purpose. Here, you'll discover a place where you're truly valued and empowered to make a meaningful impact, driving sustainable growth while creating a safe, welcoming environment for your team and the local community.

As a Leader who cares, you will be at the heart of our success, fostering an inclusive workplace where your entire team feels empowered to be their best. By coaching and developing your team of leaders, you will build a robust talent pipeline, helping them grow their careers whilst delivering the consistently high operational standards that create an exceptional fresh food experience for our customers.

This role is your chance to see your work in action, taking ownership of your store's performance and leading adaptively to drive our business forward. With the support of passionate leaders, you will continue your own professional development to shape your own path whilst helping us create better experiences for a better tomorrow.

What You'll Do
  • Inspire and Empower Your Team: Foster a welcoming, inclusive and high performing culture where every team member feels they belong. As an adaptive leader, you will build trust through supportive leadership, role modelling inclusive behaviours and coaching your team to do the same to provide the guidance and care they need to thrive.
  • Coach and Develop Future Leaders: Champion career growth by actively mentoring your leaders. You'll unlock their potential, helping them navigate their own career pathways while building a strong leadership pipeline for the future.
  • Champion a Culture of Safety and Wellbeing: Lead from the front to cultivate a physically and psychologically safe workplace. Because we care deeply, you will empower your team to proactively identify and manage all aspects of safety, ensuring everyone goes home safe everyday.
  • Deliver Exceptional Experiences: Bring 'Fresh Food' to life on the shop floor, by ensuring a clean, welcoming store and offering the highest quality fresh food. You will drive a customer-first culture, using our Everyday ACTS (Acknowledge, Care and Thank) to create a positive shopping experience for everyone who walks through our doors.
  • Drive Sustainable Commercial Growth: Take true ownership of your store's performance and commercial results. You'll use your commercial acumen to manage costs, capitalise on local trading opportunities and see the tangible impact of your strategic decisions.
  • Use Data to Connect and Prioritise: Use customer and team insights to deeply understand your store's unique needs. You'll build meaningful relationships with local and internal teams, turning data into clear priorities that elevate both the team and customer experience.
What You'll Bring
  • Proven People and Operational Leadership: You are an adaptive leader with experience leading diverse teams. You can filter out distractions to focus on what matters most, as well as align your team behind a shared purpose with clear priorities. You are optimistic, especially when faced with setbacks or criticism, with an ability to keep difficulties in perspective and a willingness to learn and grow.
  • A Commitment to Developing Talent: You have a passion for building inclusive talent pipelines. You empower others by coaching your leadership team and having meaningful development conversations.
  • Commercial Acumen and Passion for Fresh: You have a genuine passion for fresh food and drive execution through strong commercial discipline. You empower your team to own their decisions while maintaining strict accountability for operational, financial and safety metrics that deliver a brilliant customer experience.
  • Curiosity to Solve Problems: You make considered, data-driven decisions. You bring an ability to analyse insights, diagnose root causes, mitigate risks and improve the customer experience.
  • Innovative Mindset: You effectively manage change, embed tools and processes and drive continuous improvement to elevate both team and store performance.
  • Alignment with our values: You earn trust by acting with integrity, you are committed to the safety and wellbeing of your team, and stay humble and curious to better serve our local community.
