Job summary

Kmart Group is seeking a Store Manager in Mackay for a high-volume retail environment. You’ll lead a dynamic team, manage stock flow from back dock to shop floor, and drive customer satisfaction with safe, efficient store operations.

The role demands rostering, inventory control, and strategic planning to maximise sales and minimise shrinkage. You’ll foster strong relationships with team members and stakeholders while delivering results in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a big box or high-volume retail environment.
• Passion for delivering results that motivate the team.
• Values safety and customer-first mindset, with ongoing team motivation.
• Ability to foster strong relationships with team, peers, customers and stakeholders.
• Retail administration experience including rostering, stock management and strategic planning.
• Safety leadership and championing safety initiatives in a high-volume setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage the inventory cycle within the store and back dock.
• Forecast, plan and prioritise daily work and resource requirements.
• Implement strategies to reduce shrinkage and expenses.
• Oversee safe and efficient inventory management practices across the store.
• Enhance the overall customer experience for your community.
• Lead a hands-on, store-based role with accountability for back dock operations and stock flow.
• Oversee back dock operations, including receiving, processing and movement of stock to the shop floor.
• Drive efficient stock flow from the back dock to maximise availability and support sales.
