Job summary

Park Hyatt Melbourne, part of Hyatt Hotels, is seeking a Steward to support our luxury hotel operations. You will assist the department with general cleaning duties and manage storage of equipment under the Manager's guidance, ensuring adherence to our standards.

Note: role does not involve food preparation, but you may assist chefs with plate-up occasionally. Responsibilities include preparing tableware for washing, cleaning equipment, maintaining chemicals safely, operating cleaning machinery,

Qualifications

• Relevant soft skills are required including strong interpersonal communication and time management.
• Willingness to work on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Receive, collect and prepare tableware to be washed.
• Clean and store operating equipment.
• Ensure chemicals are properly maintained and their usage adheres to safety standards.
• Safely operate cleaning machinery.
• Polish silverware using appropriate chemicals and tools.

About the Role

As the Steward, you will be responsible for assisting the department in performing general cleaning duties and tasks related to cleaning and storage of equipment as directed by the Manager and the standards and procedures established by Park Hyatt Melbourne.

Please note; the role does not involve any food preparation, though, on occasion you may be required to assist the chefs with plate-up.

Some of the responsibilities include

• Receive, collect and prepare tableware to be washed
• Clean and store operating equipment
• Ensure chemicals are properly maintained and their usage adheres to the safety standards stated by governmental authorities
• Safely operate cleaning machinery
• Polish silverware using appropriate chemical, operating equipment and cloths

Qualifications

• Previous work experience in a similar fast-paced environment would be beneficial
  
• Interpersonal, communication and time management skills
  
• The flexibility to work on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
