Job summary

Central Goldfields Shire Council in Maryborough, VIC, is seeking an experienced Coordinator Statutory Planning to lead the statutory planning team, provide expert advice, and oversee complex applications and subdivisions.

The role requires strong leadership, comprehensive knowledge of Victorian planning legislation, and a proven ability to deliver quality outcomes while engaging with Councillors, developers and the community.

Qualifications

Experienced planning professional with strong leadership skills and extensive knowledge of Victorian planning legislation and processes.
Demonstrated experience in statutory planning, ideally within local government, and ability to manage complex planning matters while leading a high-performing team.
Confident communicator with exceptional stakeholder engagement, negotiation and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Lead Council's statutory planning team and provide expert planning advice.
Oversee complex planning and subdivision applications, ensuring quality planning outcomes.
Balance community expectations with legislative requirements and sustainable growth.
Engage with Councillors, developers, government agencies and the community to deliver positive development outcomes.
