Employer Sponsored Jobs is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic for a large pastoral operation in Western Australia. This role suits skilled tradespeople who enjoy working with a diverse fleet of heavy vehicles, machinery, motorcycles, and station equipment in a remote rural setting.

You will perform maintenance and repairs on a wide range of mechanical equipment to keep daily station operations running efficiently.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Diesel Mechanics or related mechanical trade.
• Minimum two years of relevant post-trade mechanical experience.
• Experience maintaining heavy vehicles, agricultural, mining, or station equipment is highly regarded.
• Strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to safely operate diagnostic and testing equipment.
• Current driver's licence equivalent to Australian C Class licence.
• Motorcycle licence, HR licence, or MC licence will be advantageous.
• Ability to work in remote locations and adapt to varying work conditions.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and proactive maintenance.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with a team.
• Physically fit and able to work in hot and demanding environments.
• Willingness to undergo workplace alcohol and drug testing.
• Long-term commitment to the role.

Responsabilités

• Carry out scheduled servicing, maintenance, and repairs on diesel vehicles, trucks, motorcycles, and station machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and perform timely repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
• Respond promptly to mechanical breakdowns and emergency call-outs.
• Operate workshop equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate service records and monitor parts inventory for timely reordering.
• Ensure commonly used spare parts are kept in stock.
• Provide guidance and basic training to station staff on routine equipment inspections and servicing.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
• Work independently and collaboratively in a remote working environment.
• Assist in maintaining the reliability and performance of the company’s fleet and equipment.
