Job summary

Water Corporation in Leederville is seeking a Planning Engineer to help decide asset renewals, optimise investments and support reliable water services across WA. You’ll work with diverse teams, use data and models, and help plan projects that maintain our infrastructure.

The role reports to the Team Leader - Statewide Renewals within the Asset Planning and Delivery Group, with flexibly options to work from home and a hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in planning, asset management or project delivery.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with data and computer systems.

Responsibilities

  • Review assets to understand age, condition and likelihood of failure.
  • Analyse asset performance, risks, costs and service outcomes.
  • Help develop long-term asset renewal and investment plans.
  • Prepare business cases and project proposals.
  • Use and improve data and planning tools to support decisions.
  • Work with teams across the business to plan future projects.
  • Prepare project scopes for contractors and delivery partners.
  • Look for opportunities to improve the way we plan and deliver work.

Job description

We're looking for a Planning Engineer to join our Statewide Renewals team in Leederville.

Your job will be to help us decide what assets need renewing, when they need renewing, and optimise our investment to provide reliable water and wastewater services across WA.

You'll work with people from different teams, use data and models to solve problems, and help plan projects that maintain our infrastructure in a good state. This role reports to the Team Leader - Statewide Renewals in the Asset Planning and Delivery Group.

About you
  • Degree or diploma in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in planning or long-term planning, asset management, or project delivery.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable working with data and computer systems.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience with water or wastewater infrastructure is desirable.
  • Experience using systems or tools such as GIS, SAP, SQL or similar software is desirable.
