Job summary

Commonwealth Bank of Australia is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the CommBiz Mobile & Insight crew in Melbourne. You will design and implement backend APIs, microservices, and integration layers, while contributing to frontend work and learning opportunities across the bank’s IT systems.

You will work in a small squad, applying Agile practices, CI/CD, and security best practices, with exposure to cloud hosting and monitoring tools.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience in backend development using C# .NET Core, REST APIs, WebAPI.
• Experience with frontend tech: Next.js, React.js, Angular, TypeScript.
• Strong ability to build, deploy and maintain high-quality software across the full SDLC using Agile practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop microservices and REST APIs for CommBiz Mobile & Insight.
• Build data access layers and integration services for third-party APIs.
• Maintain safe deployments with automated testing and monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor juniors.
