Job summary

Ignition is seeking a Staff Product Manager to own the Payments product, including rails, ledger, and money movement, ensuring timely customer payments and strong UX. You will work in a fast-paced pod with engineers and a designer, using modern AI tooling to ship quickly and learn from real customers.

You will lead opportunities, size bets, and drive adoption post-launch while collaborating with GTM, Risk, and Customer Success to move business metrics.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of product management, with 3+ years in payments or fintech; experience with rails, settlement, ledger design.
  • Real technical fluency in payments infrastructure – rails, providers, and failure modes.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-availability financial systems with compliance, risk, and UX.
  • Technical depth – read code and engage engineers as a peer.
  • AI in daily workflow – experience using AI tools.
  • Comfort defining quality for AI-assisted features.
  • Demonstrated use of data and experimentation to generate insight and measure impact.
  • Strong customer empathy and translating signals into product decisions.
  • Adept at structuring ambiguous problems and aligning teams.
  • Clear, concise communication across technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Own both ends of the product arc from opportunity to shipped product.
  • Own the Payments platform end to end including rails, ledger, settlement, and payments methods.
  • Size bets and set scope before cycles; balance must-have vs nice-to-have.
  • Work with engineers and designers as a pod, making decisions.
  • Ship to real customers early and iterate on feedback.
  • Develop deep customer understanding by talking to firms and key accounts.
  • Drive payment volume, adoption, and utilization.
  • Use AI to accelerate drafting, prototyping, research synthesis.
  • Partner cross-functionally with GTM, Support, Risk, Marketing, Sales.
  • Define success metrics and measure business outcomes.
