Job summary

GenScript USA Inc./ProBio Inc. seeks a PhD scientist to lead R&D on IVT mRNA platform technology for novel RNA therapies. You will manage projects, coordinate with marketing and production, and guide a team toward milestones.

Qualifications

• PhD in molecular biology, chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical science, chemical engineering or related field.
• >2 years of relevant experience in molecular biology, cellular biology, biochemistry, or related discipline.
• Direct experience with nucleic acid design, synthesis, and assessment in tissue culture or animal models.
• Strong collaborative instinct with good time and resource management skills.
• Broad molecular biology knowledge applied to engineering problems.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn and contribute in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation and feedback to direct reports and foster development.
• Support hiring, termination, and performance reviews to build a strong team.

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D project to meet business milestones and deliverables, manage project timeline and leverage internal resources to push projects forward.
• Collaborate with marketing and production team for new product and service development to meet customer’s expectation
• Design and engineer new IVT mRNA platform technology for next generation novel RNA based therapy development, include but not limit to in vivo CART, T cell engager, cancer vaccine and others.
• Design and lead the in vitro and in vivo novel mRNA candidate functional assay, and generate, interpret and present data to project team.
• Maintain an up-to-date accurate lab notebook records of performed studies.
• Monitors supply inventory and identifies any products required.
• Maintains work area, equipment, department and all storage areas in a clean, neat and orderly manner.
• Train junior scientist with following project milestones, help your direct report to set goals, prioritize tasks and adequately communicate top-down organization vision to them.
• Have regular meeting with your direct reports, discussing priorities and challenges, alignment, decision-making, collaboration, and providing technical guidance on them, make your impact bigger.
• Provide evaluation and feedbacks for your direct report, encouraging personal improvement, avoid recurring mistakes, and encourage good behaviors.
• Provide suggestions to hiring, termination and performance review, build a strong team.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

• PhD's degree in molecular biology, chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical science, chemical engineering or related field.
• >2 years of relevant experience in molecular biology, cellular biology, biochemistry, or related discipline in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry.
• Direct experience with nucleic acid design, synthesis, and assessment in tissue culture or animal models with a robust technical skill set to math.
• Strong collaborative instinct with good time and resource management skills
• Broad molecular biology knowledge with the ability to apply engineering principles to solve problems.
• Works collaboratively with team members to support each other
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• A sense of humility and an eagerness to continue to learn and contribute to a supportive team

Compensation

Salary range: $135,000 – $170,000 total compensation, including bonus, depending on experience and qualifications.
