Job summary

Workday is seeking a Senior Data Conversion Consultant in Sydney to lead data conversion activities for Workday Student deployments across APAC. You will partner with customers, project managers, functional consultants, and tech teams to define approach, understand legacy data, and ensure accurate loads.

You will tackle complex student data domains, manage issues, communicate risks, and mentor teammates while contributing to best practices and reusable assets.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of data migration, integration development, report building, or software development.
• 6+ years of technical consulting, requirements gathering, or solution design.
• 6+ years of HR, Payroll, Financials, Supply Chain, or Student domain experience.
• Experience with Workday Student or higher education student information systems is strongly preferred.
• Experience in leading a Data Conversion workstream on a software implementation project.
• Proficiency with ETL tools, SQL/MySQL, XML, Excel, stored procedures or similar.
• Experience leading customer data requirements sessions or technical workshops.
• Participation in a minimum of 1 full life cycle software implementation.
• Understanding of the complete software implementation lifecycle, including data requirements gathering, data mapping, data transformation, data migration, data validation, data reconciliation, testing, cutover, and move to production.
• Experience using GitHub, Python, and/or Ruby.
• Prior experience with Workday data conversion technologies such as iLoad, EIB, Advanced Load.
• Experience with AI products, prompt engineering and agent development.

A Senior Technical Consultant is a member of Workday’s Global Professional Services organization dedicated to the implementation of our cloud-based software within the APAC Technical Services Organisation. We help customers make the most of the Workday platform!

The APAC Technical Services team is responsible for the Data Conversion, Integration, and Extend workstreams on Workday implementation projects. As a diverse group driven by a passion for the success of our customers, we provide leadership and technical expertise to efficiently guide customers through their deployments. About the Role

As a Senior Data Conversion Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering successful Workday Student deployments by leading data conversion activities across the full project lifecycle. You will partner with customers, project managers, functional consultants, and technical teams to define the conversion approach, understand legacy student data, support data mapping and transformation, and load accurate, high-quality data into Workday Student.

This role focuses on complex Student domain data, including academic structures, student records, admissions, curriculum, programs of study, enrollment, academic history, and student financials. You will help customers understand Workday Student data requirements, assess data readiness, identify quality risks, resolve conversion challenges, and support validation and reconciliation through mock loads, testing, cutover, and production deployment.

Success in this role requires strong technical problem-solving skills, practical data conversion experience, and the ability to explain complex data topics clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will be expected to manage issues proactively, communicate risks and recommendations, and drive work to completion. As a senior consultant, you may also contribute to delivery best practices, reusable assets, knowledge sharing, and mentoring to support high-quality customer outcomes.

About You

Basic Qualifications

• 6+ years of data migration, integration development, report building, or software development, OR

• 6+ years of experience with technical consulting, requirements gathering, or solution design, OR

• 6+ years of Human Resource, Payroll, Financials, Supply Chain, or Student domain experience

Other Qualifications

• Experience with Workday Student or higher education student information systems is strongly preferred.

• Experience in leading a Data Conversion workstream on a software implementation project.

• Proficiency with data tooling such as ETL tools, SQL/MySQL, XML, Microsoft Excel, stored procedures, or similar technologies.
