Job summary

Rombola Family Farms in Griffith, NSW is seeking a Spray Rig Operator to join our Farm Ops team. You will operate and maintain spray rigs, apply pesticides and fertilizers, and ensure crop health and safety on-site.

The role requires chemical accreditation (ChemCert), forklift certification, and a proactive, safety‑driven mindset. You will log all chemical use and assist with inventory and compliance across multiple sites in NSW and NT.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Spray Rig Operator or similar role on a farm.
• Must have a chemical Accreditation (ChemCert).
• Must have a Forklift licence.
• Knowledge and experience with precision ag technology.
• Mechanically inclined and comfortable using modern technology such as smart phones.
• Transportation and a valid driver’s licence.
• Knowledge of safe pesticide application practices and farm machinery operation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain spray rigs and apply pesticides and fertilizers.
• Ensure correct chemicals are used and recorded with accurate mixes.
• Maintain spray logs and usage records for compliance and traceability.
• Keep spray equipment clean, calibrated and functioning before use.
• Provide on-site support to the spraying team during operations.
• Oversee Chemical Shed & Inventory management and safe storage.
• Record stocktakes and reconcile inventory levels against usage.
• Receive deliveries of chemicals and ensure SDS records are up to date.
• Maintain safe handling and storage practices for all products.
