Job summary

Frizelle Sunshine Automotive on the Gold Coast seeks a qualified Spray Painter to join its busy Service team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will work in a well-equipped body shop, preparing surfaces, colour matching, and applying top and clear coats to manufacturer specs.

The role requires a trade qualification in Automotive Refinishing, proven spray painting experience in a panel shop or dealership, and a strong eye for colour accuracy.

Qualifications

• Completed qualification in automotive refinishing or related trade.
• Proven spray painting experience in a panel shop or dealership setting.
• Solid colour-matching ability with waterborne or solvent-based systems.
• Reliable approach to meeting turnaround times without compromising quality.
• Current driver's licence.
• Team-oriented attitude and clear communication with supervisors and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle surfaces through sanding, filling and priming to own quality from start to finish.
• Mix and match paints to achieve accurate colour results.
• Apply top coats and clear coats to manufacturer specifications.
• Identify and correct surface imperfections before and after painting.
• Collaborate with Service team and adhere to WH&S procedures.

About the role

Working within a well-equipped body shop, you will play a key part in restoring vehicles to a standard that customers can be proud of, with the support of an experienced team behind you.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Preparing vehicle surfaces through sanding, filling, and priming, giving you full ownership of quality from start to finish
• Mixing and matching paints to achieve accurate colour results, sharpening a skill that sets great spray painters apart
• Applying top coats and clear coats to manufacturer specifications, so every vehicle leaves the shop looking its best
• Identifying and correcting surface imperfections before and after painting, building your eye for detail with every job
• Working alongside a collaborative Service team where your contribution is visible and recognised
• Following workplace health and safety procedures that keep you and your colleagues safe every day

About you

You are a trade-qualified Spray Painter who finds real satisfaction in a job done properly, and you are ready to bring that standard to a dealership environment.
