Job summary

State Sport Centres Trust (SSCT) is seeking a Sports Technology Supervisor to oversee setup, operation, and pack-down of tech for events at MSAC and Lakeside Stadium.

You will coach Sports Technology Officers and act as the main tech support during events, collaborating with specialists to test and evaluate equipment across SSCT venues.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in event operations or related environment.
• Familiarity with sports technology and/or audio-visual systems (Omega timing equipment, mixing desks, microphones).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent computer literacy and interpersonal communication skills.
• Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the setup, operation and pack-down of sports technology equipment for events of all scales.
• Provide coaching, guidance and feedback to Sports Technology Officers.
• Act as the primary technical support contact during events and competitions.
• Collaborate with the Sports Technology Specialist to maintain, test and evaluate sports technology equipment.
• Conduct pre- and post-event equipment checks and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Liaise with event organisers, contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure successful event delivery and a high standard of customer service.
• Support the delivery of national and international sporting events, community sport and school events across SSCT venues.

About State Sport Centres:

The Victorian State Sport Centres Trust (SSCT) operates and maintains over $1 billion assets including four of Australia’s largest multi-sport venues, the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC), the State Netball and Hockey Centre (SNHC), Lakeside Stadium incorporating the State Athletics Centre, and Knox Regional Sports Park including the State Basketball Centre (SBC).

Unlike other major international standard venues that host sport and entertainment events, SSCT venues also provide access for users at all levels, from elite and professional athletes to school and community participants 7 days per week, up to 16 hours a day.

About the role:

As the Sports Technology Supervisor, your primary responsibilities will include:

Required skills and Qualifications:

• Proven leadership experience in event operations or a related environment.


• Familiarity with sports technology and/or audio-visual systems (e.g. Omega timing equipment, mixing desks, microphones and related technology).


• Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform effectively in fast-paced environments.


• Excellent computer literacy and interpersonal communication skills.


• Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check.
