Bayside Health is offering a 12-month transition position for a Speech Pathologist Grade 3 to gain confidence and competency in mental health care for children and youth in Moorabbin.

The role sits within a multidisciplinary team, providing discipline-specific assessment and consultation while you develop mental health case management skills, supervision, and ongoing professional development. Onsite facilities and salary packaging are offered.

The Department

Alfred Infant Child and Youth Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (ICYAMHWS) is friendly to infants, children, young people and their families/carers.

We provide accessible mental health services inclusive of family, friends and support networks.

We are a specialist, multi-disciplinary and intensive care mental health service incorporating the lived and living experience of family peer specialists and youth peer workers.

Our service is divided into two streams 0-11 and 12-26 years and includes specialist services in the areas of perinatal care, neurodevelopmental presentations, eating disorders and outreach support.

What you will be doing:

• This is a 12-month transition position aimed to support a speech pathologist to gain confidence and competency as a mental health clinician.
• Based in a multi-disciplinary team, you will deliver discipline specific assessment and consultation and develop mental health case management skills.

About you:

You are an experienced speech pathologist, seeking to develop your knowledge and skills in the mental health sector.

• Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology.
• Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
• Satisfactory Working with Children Check and be willing to undergo a background check.
