Job summary

St Stephens Hospital is seeking a Speech Pathologist for permanent part-time or casual roles at our Hervey Bay site. The role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing impairments across hospital wards with a focus on high-quality, person-centred care.

Qualifications

• Tertiary degree in Speech Pathology required.
• Minimum 2 years post-graduate clinical experience in acute tertiary hospital settings.
• Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Assessments preferred.
• Hold current membership with Speech Pathology Australia and BlueCard.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, treat and manage a range of communication and swallowing impairments.
• Deliver high-quality speech pathology services across hospital wards.
• Provide person-centred care and contribute to multidisciplinary teams.

Skills

Post-graduate experience in acute care

Modified Barium Swallow Assessments

Speech Pathology Australia member

BlueCard holder

Strong organizational skills

Vaccination and checks willingness

Education

Tertiary Degree in Speech Pathology

Certified practising member of Speech Pathology Australia
