Barwon Health’s multidisciplinary Pain Management Unit at Geelong Hospital is seeking a part-time Pain Specialist to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care. You will hold FFPMANZCA and contribute to education, research and continuous improvement while collaborating across pain medicine, palliative care, rehabilitation and psychiatry.

Responsibilities include assessing and managing patients, supervising trainees, participating in research and maintaining professional standards within Barwon

Formación

• Basic medical degree eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Postgraduate qualifications in Anaesthesia recognised by the National Specialist Qualifications Advisory Committee, FANZCA preferred.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Pain Medicine recognised by NSQAC, FFPMANZCA preferred.

About the Role

Join Barwon Health’s multidisciplinary Pain Management Unit as a part-time Pain Specialist and contribute to delivering high-quality, safe and patient-centred care at Geelong Hospital. We are seeking a positive, enthusiastic and team-oriented clinician who holds Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine (FFPMANZCA) and is committed to collaborative practice across pain medicine, palliative care, rehabilitation and psychiatry. You will contribute to clinical excellence, undergraduate and postgraduate education, research, clinical audit and continuous improvement, while fostering strong professional relationships across Barwon Health and the wider medical community.

Key Responsibilities

Assess, diagnose and manage patients within the Pain Management Unit and acute pain service, providing specialist care across the hospital and participating in the after-hours emergency roster

Supervise and educate medical trainees and other healthcare professionals, contributing to staff training, professional development and recruitment

Participate in departmental research, quality improvement and administrative activities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care

Maintain professional development and clinical standards, ensure accurate medical documentation, uphold Barwon Health values and comply with privacy, occupational health and safety requirement

What we’re looking for

Basic medical degree eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Postgraduate qualifications in Anaesthesia recognised by the National Specialist Qualifications Advisory Committee and registrable in Victoria, preferably FANZCA.

Postgraduate qualifications in Pain Medicine recognised by the National Specialist Qualifications Advisory Committee and registrable in Victoria, preferably FFPMANZCA
