Job summary

South32 Group Operations Pty. Ltd. is seeking a seasoned Sourcing/Category Manager to lead supplier relations and contracts at our Cannington site in Queensland.

You will develop sourcing plans, coordinate tenders and manage vendor performance to support governance and procurement targets. The role requires at least three years in sourcing or category management, strong negotiation skills and proven stakeholder collaboration. Experience with SAP and Ariba Sourcing & Contracts is essential.

• Collaborative stakeholder relationships and clear communication to influence outcomes.
• Practical use of SAP and Ariba Sourcing & Contracts.

ABOUT CANNINGTON

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead. Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.

Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track. The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a permanent position, on an 4:3 day-shift roster with site and work from home component, FIFO from Brisbane and Townsville, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• At least three years in a similar sourcing or category management role.
• Contract drafting, negotiation and assessment of commercial risks.
• Collaborative stakeholder relationships and clear communication to influence outcomes.
• Practical use of SAP and Ariba Sourcing & Contracts.

Qualifications for this position are:

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce, supply chain or law, or relevant post-secondary studies.
• MCIPS is advantageous.
