Job summary

OneSchool Global Berwick Campus is seeking a Specialist Learning Support Teacher to commence in January 2027 on a permanent 0.4 FTE. You will work 1:1 with students with high needs, supporting inclusive learning.

The role requires VIT registration, knowledge of the Australian Curriculum, and ASD experience. The campus emphasizes professional growth, innovation, and a strong wellbeing focus for staff and students.

Qualifications

• Must be a VIT-registered teacher with strong understanding of the Australian Curriculum and Syllabus.
• Experience working with students with ASD is essential, and the ability to engage teenage boys is highly regarded.
• Experience developing and delivering Life Skills programs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate student needs and differentiate instruction across the learning spectrum.
• Collect and analyse data; create and implement individualised education plans (IEPs).

About You

To be considered for this position, you must be a VIT-registered teacher with a strong understanding of the Australian Curriculum and Syllabus, and be willing to embrace modern teaching methods and technologies.

As a Learning Support Teacher, you will be skilled in identifying and evaluating student needs, differentiating instruction across all parts of the learning spectrum, collecting and analysing data, creating and implementing individualised education plans (IEPs), and providing professional guidance to staff. Experience working with students with ASD is essential, and the ability to effectively engage and support teenage boys is highly regarded.

Experience working with students who have identified and diagnosed high-need autism, including students up to Level 3 ASD, and/or experience developing and delivering Life Skills programs (including programming life skills as part of the role) will be highly desirable.

You will respond to data through intervention programs and differentiation of content in consultation with the Campus Student Support Lead and subject teachers. You will also provide training and support to Teaching and Support staff in areas that enhance quality differentiated teaching and supplementary support. The role involves providing targeted support to students during lessons and study time—both in general and specialist learning environments, including online (Zoom).
