  • Permanent part-time job-share opportunity based in Perth.

We’re Finding Better Ways to provide materials the world needs, now and in the future. Our values – care, courage and curiosity – guide how we work and how we treat each other.

About the role

We are looking for a Specialist Data Systems to join our Development team and provide technical support for the ongoing operation, maintenance and improvement of key data systems supporting Geoscience and Resource Geology activities.

In this Perth-based, part-time job-share role, you will have a particular focus on acQuire, helping the team respond to system issues, maintain reliable data flows and deliver practical improvements that strengthen data quality and support timely drilling and resource modelling outcomes.

Permanent part-time job-share opportunity for a data systems professional who enjoys solving technical problems, partnering with operational and technical stakeholders, and improving the systems and processes that underpin important business decisions.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting into the Superintendent Data Systems – Development, you will:

  • Provide day-to-day support, administration and troubleshooting for acQuire and other key data systems, resolving system, data and integration issues and escalating complex matters where required.

  • Monitor data quality and system performance, proactively identifying risks, recurring issues and opportunities for improvement.

  • Maintain system configurations, reference data, workflows, access controls and supporting documentation to ensure systems remain reliable and fit for purpose.

  • Partner with users to understand business requirements and translate them into practical system, data and process improvements.

  • Support the testing, implementation and adoption of system enhancements, upgrades and data solutions.

  • Develop and maintain data checks, reports and controls to improve data accuracy, completeness and consistency.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen system reliability, operational efficiency and user capability through clear procedures and knowledge sharing.

  • Work collaboratively across the job-share arrangement to ensure effective handovers, continuity and a consistent level of service.

About you

Required for Success

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.

  • Experience in database management and administration (DBA) using SQL Server.

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and relational databases, including strong expertise in writing and optimising complex queries and stored procedures.

  • Familiarity with software development practices and tools, including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), Git and GitHub.

  • The ability to diagnose technical problems and develop practical, sustainable solutions.

  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities within a job-share arrangement.

Helpful for Success

  • Experience using acQuire or a similar geoscientific data management platform.

  • Exposure to Geoscience, Resource Geology, exploration, drilling or mining data environments.

  • Familiarity with geographic information system (GIS) tools and systems.

  • Experience working with data platforms, with an understanding of extract, transform and load (ETL) processes and data modelling.

  • Experience working with Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft Entra, Azure and Microsoft Graph.

  • Experience testing, upgrading and configuring systems, maintaining documentation and implementing system changes.

  • A qualification in information systems, data management, geoscience, computer science or a related discipline.

Be recognised for your contribution, your thinking and your hard work, and go home knowing you’ve helped the world progress.

  • A work environment where safety is always the number one priority.
