Job summary

IKAD Engineering Pty invites applications for a Special Class Welder based in Henderson, WA. The role requires GTAW experience with exotic metals such as duplex, alloys and stainless steel.

You will weld to approved procedures, interpret weld symbols, and maintain equipment while upholding safety standards. Join an established Western Australian company with a broad sector footprint including defence, mining and marine.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ trade experience.
• GTAW welding experience is a MUST.
• Knowledge of welding exotic metals (Duplex, Alloys, Stainless Steel).
• Interpret welding symbols to ensure correct welding techniques.
• Sound knowledge of welding including piping and platework.
• Able to identify safety hazards and work safely.

Responsibilities

We are currently seeking applications for suitably qualified and experienced Special Class Welder with extensive experience welding exotic metals to join our great local team in Henderson, WA. You will possess a commitment to work as a team player, be adaptable to a changing environment.

• Perform welding in accordance with approved weld procedures and codes
• Interpret welding symbols to ensure correct welding techniques
• Carry out basic maintenance of welding machine and equipment to keep a clean and safe work area.
• Follow all workshop and site safety requirements.
• Sound knowledge of Welding, including piping and platework.
• Sound knowledge of Welding Exotic Metals such as Duplex's, Alloys, Stainless Steel etc
• GTAW welding experience is a MUST, GMAW/FCAW welding experience desirable.
• 5+ years’ trade experience.
• Ensure all activities are completed in a safe and efficient manner.
• Able to identify and report potential safety hazards and take appropriate actions
• Elevated Work Platform.
• Recognised training certification in rigging, dogging & forklift.
• Confined Space Entry and Working Safely at Heights.
