CURATING ORIGINALITY TAKES TALENT

W Sydney is now casting for a Sous Chef (Breakfast) for our Signature Restaurant, BTWN, which is situated ‘between’ the city’s sweeping expressways and Darling Harbour serving up contemporary Australian flavors alongside a dynamic urban vista. Your main responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Supporting the culinary leadership to achieve the daily objectives of the culinary department
  • Assisting to lead the Breakfast Service for the Restaurant
  • Works with Restaurant and Banquet departments to coordinate service and timing of events and meals
  • Leads shifts while personally preparing food items and executing requests based on required specifications
  • Participates in the employee performance appraisal process, giving feedback as needed
  • Supervises and mentoring staffing to ensure that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met
  • Performs all duties of culinary and related kitchen area talent in high demand times
  • Participates in department meetings and continually communicates a clear and consistent message regarding the departmental goals to produce desired results
  • Purchases appropriate supplies and manages food and supply inventories according to budget

REQUIREMENTS

  • Working experience in a large/luxury full-service hotel, with experience doing breakfast service
  • Knowledge and understanding in Australian/European cuisine
  • Basic administrative and computer skills
