We are seeking an experienced Sourcing Specialist to join ourProcurement & Logistics team, based at our Head Office in PerthCBD. Reporting to the Executive General Manager – GroupProcurement, this role will be responsible for deliveringend-to-end sourcing, procurement and inventory managementactivities across NRW’s mining, civil and drill & blastoperations.
Working across domestic and international supply networks, youwill play a key role in securing critical consumables, components,spare parts, equipment and services while delivering cost savings,supplier performance improvements and continuity of supply.
Key Requirements:
- Extensive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing orsupply chain management within an operational orasset-intensive environment
- Strong spoken and written communication skills in Mandarinand English, with experience engaging directly with Chinesemanufacturers
- Demonstrated commercial negotiation and influencing skills,including pricing, commercial terms and supplieragreements
- Proven ability to identify and deliver measurable costsavings and commercial improvements
- Experience managing supplier relationships and performanceacross quality, delivery, responsiveness and continuousimprovement
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and reportingskills
- Full Australian working rights
- Relevant tertiary qualification in procurement, supplychain management, engineering, commerce, business or a relateddiscipline, or equivalent industry experience
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the sourcing and procurement of mining consumables,drill and blast products, mobile plant components, wear parts,critical spares, equipment and operational services
- Developing and maintaining strategic relationships withlocal and international suppliers, including manufacturers inChina
- Managing the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, includingdemand planning, supplier identification, market engagement,quotations, commercial evaluation, negotiation, purchaseorders, expediting and delivery monitoring
- Negotiating pricing, commercial terms, lead times,inventory arrangements and supply agreements to deliversustainable cost savings
- Developing sourcing strategies that optimise total cost ofownership, minimise supply risk and improve continuity ofsupply
- Reviewing technical drawings, engineering specifications,maintenance requirements and scope documentation andcommunicating requirements to suppliers
- Identifying alternative sourcing opportunities andimplementing supply chain improvements
- Collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering,Supply Chain, Finance and Site Leadership to align sourcing andinventory activities with operational requirements
- Managing supplier performance across safety, quality,delivery, responsiveness and continuous improvement
- Monitoring stock levels, consumption trends, demandforecasts and supplier lead times to maintain availability ofcritical operational materials
- Supporting accurate inventory valuation, purchasingrecords, cost allocation, budgeting and financial controls
- Preparing and presenting procurement, inventory andsupplier performance reports, including savings, efficiencies,risks and commercial improvements
