Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) invites applications for a Radiographer to join the Medical Imaging Department at Nepean Hospital. You will deliver expert diagnostic imaging, mentor staff, and contribute to clinical leadership and quality improvement across modalities.

The role involves rotating shifts Monday to Friday with weekend on‑call cover as needed, and it supports professional development within a leading tertiary health service in NSW.

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree in Medical Radiation Science (Diagnostic Radiography).
• Registration with AHPRA as Medical Radiation Practitioner is required.
• I14 Radiation Licence from NSW EPA is mandatory.
• Registration with ASAR is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality diagnostic imaging services and provide clinical leadership within the department.
• Mentor and support junior staff and students, contribute to service improvement and patient safety.
• Collaborate with Radiologists, Medical Specialists, Nurses and Allied Health to deliver timely imaging.
• Rotate between Nepean Hospital and BMDAMH as service needs require.

Education

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated Radiographer to join the Medical Imaging Department at Nepean Hospital, one of New South Wales' largest and fastest-growing tertiary referral hospitals. As a senior member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert clinical imaging services while supporting service development, quality improvement, education and leadership across a broad range of diagnostic imaging modalities. Responsibilities

The Radiographer is responsible for delivering high‑quality diagnostic imaging services and providing advanced clinical leadership within the department. The successful applicant will demonstrate expert clinical practice, mentor and support junior staff and students, contribute to service improvement initiatives, and promote safe, evidence‑based patient care. Working collaboratively with Radiologists, Medical Specialists, Nurses and Allied Health professionals, you will play an integral role in delivering timely and accurate diagnostic imaging services to support exceptional patient outcomes. The post holder is primarily based at Nepean Hospital though may be required to rotate to BMDAMH to provide service cover as required. The role operates on a rotating shifts Monday to Friday, with some weekend on‑call cover from 9:00am–9:00pm, ensuring continuity of service delivery. What you will bring to the role

• Possess the following qualifications and registrations: 1. A Degree in Medical Radiation Science in Diagnostic Radiography and a recognised Sonography qualification 2. Registration with AHPRA as a Medical Radiation Practitioner. 3. I14 Radiation Licence from NSW EPA. 4. Registration with ASAR
• Demonstrated high standard of knowledge, clinical experience and proficiency in ultrasound across a broad range of examinations.
• An ability to supervise, instruct and mentor other MRS' and undergraduates.
• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
