Job description

GIG Radiology Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and passionate Sonographer with a strong interest or expertise in Musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound to join our medical imaging team in Rosebud, VIC.

This full-time position offers a diverse clinical caseload centered on advanced MSK examinations alongside general, obstetric, and vascular imaging. Working in a supportive, multi-modality environment equipped with state-of-the-art technology, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging and patient care to the Mornington Peninsula community.

Key responsibilities

Performing high-quality MSK ultrasound examinations (including joint, tendon, muscle, and nerve assessments), alongside general, obstetric, and vascular scans.

Operating and maintaining advanced ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal diagnostic image quality.

Positioning patients comfortably and explaining procedures clearly to ensure a positive patient experience.

Accurately identifying normal and abnormal sonographic findings and communicating critical findings to radiologists and referring clinicians.

Maintaining precise patient records, documentation, and compliance with clinical quality standards.

Adhering to radiation safety, infection control, and workplace health and safety protocols.

Fostering a collaborative, professional, and empathetic environment for both patients and team members.

What we're looking for

Current registration with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR) or Australian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM) / DMU.

Demonstrated clinical competence and strong proficiency in MSK ultrasound, with experience in general, OB/GYN, and vascular scanning.

High level of attention to detail and a commitment to clinical excellence and image quality.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with patients, radiologists, and referring doctors.

Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment.
