Job summary

Vertiv Co in Sydney, NSW seeks a field-based engineer to provide local technical support and design input for major data centre projects and centre solutions while assisting the sales team to achieve targets.

You will interact daily with Sales and Product Management, develop BOMs if needed, source quotes, present to end users and consultants, and ensure timely completion of offers with professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to PSA procedures and practices.
• Provide sales staff with technical assistance and product information to aid sales activities.
• Review documentation submitted by Sales.
• Bill of materials itemising products and services in offers.
• Work with product management to source quotes from third party products and services in support of offers.
• Completion of all work in a timely manner.
• Develop and maintain relationships with consultants, contractors, end users.
• Customer presentations to help guide product selection and drive technical discussions.
• Provide local technical support for major projects and data centre solutions.
• Provide design input for major projects and data centre solutions.
• Ensure calls and demonstrations are pre-planned with back-up material.
• Dress and appearance presentable; follow policy and conduct business professionally.
• To act upon requests from the director of PSA relating to reporting.
• Undertake product training as required and directed by management.

Job description

The purpose of this position is to provide local technical support and design influence for major projects and centre solutions whilst supporting the sales team in this area (CDC) achieve overall business sales targets and as appropriate, ensure selling prices; transactions and quotations adhere to company policy and to exploit all opportunities for market development.

The position requires - daily interaction with key functional areas of the business; direct support for the Sales and Product Management teams; technical and commercial management and engagement with the Data Centre community including but not limited to end users, consulting and contractor fraternity, facility managers, builders, relevant government agencies and data centre industry bodies.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to PSA procedures and practices.
• Provide sales staff with technical assistance & support information on Vertiv product to assist with the sales activity.
