Job summary

Southern Cross University is seeking a seasoned Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of complex, enterprise‑wide solutions across teaching, research, and administration. You will collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to ensure architectures align with strategic goals.

Reporting to the Enterprise Architect, you will establish design standards, promote scalable and secure patterns, and mentor teams while guiding major platform integrations such as TechnologyOne,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or CS (or related field).
• 8+ years in technical roles with at least 5 years in solution architecture.
• Experience designing and integrating enterprise platforms including TechnologyOne, Dynamics 365, Blackboard, and Teams.
• Strong understanding of solution design patterns, architectural frameworks, and integration practices.
• Ability to lead large-scale architecture initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of complex, enterprise-wide solutions spanning multiple systems and domains.
• Drive integration of core platforms to ensure seamless connectivity across systems.
• Establish and promote architectural standards and scalable, secure design patterns.

We are seeking a Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of complex, enterprise‑wide solutions that span multiple systems, platforms, and business domains. This senior technical role offers the chance to shape architectural direction, establish design standards, and drive strategic solution initiatives across the University’s teaching, learning, research, and administrative functions.

Reporting to the Enterprise Architect, you will work closely with development teams, project managers, and business stakeholders to deliver high‑impact solutions aligned with the University’s enterprise architecture vision.

You will make an impact by:

• Designing and delivering robust enterprise‑grade solution architectures that support teaching, research, student services, and operations across all major university domains
• Leading the integration of core platforms such as TechnologyOne, Microsoft Dynamics, Blackboard, Microsoft Teams, and custom applications, ensuring seamless connectivity across all systems
• Establishing and promoting architectural standards and frameworks that ensure scalability, security, and maintainability across all digital initiatives
• Providing expert guidance and mentorship to develop teams, driving best practices in solution design, technology selection, and implementation
• Collaborating with stakeholders and contributing to the university technology roadmap, championing innovation, emerging technologies, and long‑term strategic planning

What You Will Bring

You’re an experienced and forward‑thinking Solution Architect with deep technical knowledge, strong leadership skills, and a collaborative approach to problem solving. You thrive in complex environments, enjoy working across multiple business domains, and are passionate about delivering scalable, impactful technology solutions.

To succeed in this role, you will also need:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Ideally 8+ years in technical roles with at least 5 years in solution architecture
• Proven experience in designing and integrating enterprise platforms including TechnologyOne, Dynamics 365, Blackboard, and Microsoft Teams
• Strong understanding of solution design patterns, architectural frameworks, and integration practices
• Demonstrate ability to lead large scale architecture initiatives and collaborate with cross‑functional teams
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, translating business needs into technical strategy
• A commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and delivering real world impact
