Job summary

Aurec is seeking a skilled Solution Architect to lead end-to-end architecture for large-scale ICT transformation programs. You will align business requirements with technical governance, design multi-environment specifications, and guide Agile teams to deliver robust, scalable cloud-aligned solutions.

Candidates should demonstrate 3–5+ years in similar roles, possess a tertiary CS/Information Management qualification, and be comfortable operating within a Federal Government context.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience as a Solution or Application Architect delivering large-scale ICT transformation programs, preferably in a Federal Government context.
• Strong ability to distil complex tech info into plain English and translate requirements into outcomes.
• Experience leading architectural governance in dynamic Agile environments.

Role & Responsibilities

• Lead the development and end-to-end architecture of complex solutions, ensuring alignment with overarching business requirements, strategic vision, and technical governance standards.

• Produce comprehensive specifications across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid cloud environments, translating requirements into detailed designs for delivery teams.

• Provide strategic and technical guidance to Agile Delivery Teams (ADTs), evaluating alternative architectures and trade-offs regarding cost, performance, and scalability.

• Manage and document architecturally significant decisions and target architectures across multiple concurrent workstreams and initiatives.

• Drive the adoption of robust technical strategies, policies, and security frameworks while evaluating change requests and deviation requests for governance bodies.

• Work collaboratively within Agile/SAFe frameworks, acting as a crucial bridge between business stakeholders and technical execution teams.

Skills & Experience

• Technical Toolkit: Strong proficiency across Microsoft 365, Azure DevOps, Azure API Management, Azure Application Service Environments, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Azure Service Bus. Deep familiarisation with frameworks such as Blazor, React, OpenAI, HATEOAS, asynchronous integration, composable applications, and data microservices.

• Experience: 3-5+ years of demonstrated experience as a Solution or Application Architect delivering large-scale ICT transformation programs, preferably within a Federal Government context.

• Core Capabilities: Proven ability to distil complex technical information into plain English, translate business requirements into technical outcomes, and lead architectural governance in dynamic Agile environments.

• Qualifications & Desirables: Tertiary degree or certification in Computer Science/Information Management, proficiency in ArchiMate (3.1), and solid experience with Commonwealth Government ICT frameworks.

Eligibility & Clearance Requirements

• Security Clearance: Due to the nature of this environment, candidates must hold a current Baseline security clearance or, at minimum, be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain one.
