The Opportunity

We are seeking a Solicitor to join our leading Trademarks team to be based in Melbourne or Sydney.

As a member of the Trademarks team, you will also work closely with the broader IP practice including with leading IP partners Rebekah Gay, Sue Gilchrist and Emma Iles. You will undertake a range of work that supports national and international clients including:

  • Australian and international trademark filing and prosecution;

  • Trademark portfolio management;

  • Rebranding and clearance advice;

  • Drafting and negotiating consents and co-existence agreements;

  • Advising on intellectual property aspects of due diligence; and

  • Providing support on trademark and domain name disputes.

To be successful in this role, you will be an admitted Lawyer in Australia or New Zealand, and have:

  • 3+ years of demonstrable experience across trademark prosecutions from a leading national or international private practice, or an in-house environment;

  • An excellent academic record coupled with strong legal skills and a practical mindset;

  • A proactive approach and desire to be an integral member of our leading and supportive team;

  • An ability to work to tight timeframes, collaboratively and at times autonomously;

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to demonstrate collegiality within a team;

  • Have a hunger to learn and develop, and be part of maintaining a market-leading practice.

Our specialists advise clients on all areas of trademark portfolio management to help protect our client’s valuable brands and associated rights. We manage Australian and global portfolios for many of Australia’s most well-known brands and work alongside our clients in a strategic role helping to protect high-value IP as well as enabling our clients to make the most of their IP assets through licensing and other commercial agreements.
