JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Solicitor to join our leading Band 1 and award-winning Dispute Resolution team in Sydney.

In this role you will work closely with the highly ranked Partner and Section Head, , in a close-knit and personable team. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a market-leading team with a global network, while enjoying the benefits of a close-knit, collaborative team with high levels of involvement and exposure to varied matters.

What you'll do

In joining this team, you will be a generalist commercial litigator working across a broad range of complex commercial litigation and regulatory investigations. This close-knit team works very collaboratively, while also offering a good level of autonomy. Every day bring new challenges, from large-scale litigation to smaller matters you'll run autonomously, giving you the chance to develop a diverse skillset.

In this role you will :
  • Advise on a broad range of complex and high-profile disputes, including:
    • Large-scale commercial litigation
    • Alternative dispute resolution
    • Regulatory investigations involving ASIC, ACCC, APRA and OIAC.
  • Work on matters involving:
    • Statutory licensing regimes
    • Financial services regulation
    • Crisis prevention and management
    • Complex commercial contracts and associated issues
    • Contentious financial crime issues.
  • Work with clients across a range of industries including healthcare, financial services, government, entertainment and betting sectors.
  • Collaborate closely with team members contributing to strategy and case preparation.
  • Contribute to strategic advice on matters that have not yet headed to a formal dispute.
What you'll bring
  • 2 to 5 years of experience as a lawyer.
  • Demonstrable exposure to a range of commercial litigation matters and a genuine interest in law and strategy.
  • Experience gained in a top-tier, national or international disputes team.
  • Admission to practice in Australia or NZ, and a strong academic background.
  • Sharp attention to detail and a practical, commercial mindset.
  • An ability to manage competing deadlines and complex matters.
  • Excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in working as part of a cohesive and collaborative team.
