Job summary

Mallesons is seeking a solicitor with 2–4 years post-admission experience to join our Sydney-based specialist restructuring and insolvency team. This role sits within the banking and finance group and offers exposure to some of the market’s most significant restructuring matters.

Qualifications

• Candidates will have a minimum 2 years post-admission experience, preferably with exposure to specialist restructuring & insolvency work in Australia or a similar jurisdiction overseas
• Be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the Australian restructuring and insolvency procedures
• Have a genuine passion to work in a team environment with a focus on collaboration
• Demonstrate attention to detail, organisational skills and a strong work ethic
• Have ambitions to specialise in restructuring & insolvency work and over time take on a senior role in our team

About the role

Mallesons' specialist restructuring and insolvency team sits in the banking and finance team. With close links to the broader Mallesons practice and the wider restructuring and insolvency industry, the team has access to the most significant and complex restructuring and insolvency work in the market. The team is known as a centre of excellence and has the benefit of some of the finest legal and commercial minds working in restructuring and insolvency in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. Mallesons is uniquely placed to lead on cross-border restructuring matters in the Asia-Pacific Region, as well as globally. We work seamlessly across offices and practice groups. The team is known for leading on high profile restructuring and insolvency matters and taking an active role in structuring and leading implementation of the solution. Our team remains busy on several very significant situations both publicly known and highly confidential. As we work through those situations and start on new ones, we are looking for an ambitious solicitor to join us.
