Job summary

Angela Sdrinis Legal in Hobart seeks a Graduate Lawyer or Junior Solicitor to join the Institutional Abuse and Class Actions team. You will develop practical litigation skills under experienced practitioners, handling institutional abuse claims and class actions with guidance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with institutional abuse claims and class actions preparations and management.
• Conduct legal research and draft correspondence, pleadings, and court documents.

• Assist with client interviews, taking instructions, and maintaining client relationships.
• Support mediation, settlement, and litigation preparation and coordination.
• Liaise with barristers, experts, and other stakeholders.

AAngela Sdrinis Legal is a specialist personal injury law firm with a strong focus on Institutional Abuse, Workcover, Comcare and Transport Accident Claims. Angela Sdrinis Legal is committed to advocating for clients and ensuring they receive respectful, trauma-informed legal support.

We are seeking a Graduate Lawyer or Junior Solicitor to join our Hobart office and assist our Institutional Abuse and Class Actions team.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your legal skills and gain hands-on experience in a specialist area of plaintiff litigation. Working alongside experienced practitioners, you will assist with the management and progression of institutional abuse claims and class action proceedings.

The role will involve:

• Assisting with the preparation and management of institutional abuse claims and class action proceeding;
• Conducting legal research and drafting correspondence, pleadings, and court documents;
• Reviewing and analysing documentary, medical, and historical records;
• Assisting with client interviews, taking instructions, and maintaining client relationships;
• Supporting the preparation of matters for mediation, settlement, and litigation; and
• Liaising with barristers, experts, and other relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• A law degree and admission as an Australian legal practitioner, or be eligible for admission in due course;
• A genuine interest in plaintiff personal injury law, civil litigation, and class actions;
• Strong written communication, research, and organisational skills;
• A compassionate, empathetic, and client-focused approach; and
• Initiative, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

Previous experience in personal injury or litigation is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from recent graduates and junior solicitors.
