Job summary

G-Solar & Electrical is seeking an experienced, SAA-accredited solar electrician to join our Cairns team. You will install, test and commission residential and commercial solar PV systems, battery storage and EV charging equipment, using leading technology from Tesla, Sigenergy, Fronius and BYD.

In this role you’ll work on a variety of renewable energy projects across Far North Queensland, focusing on quality workmanship, safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Current Queensland Electrical License.
• Current Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) accreditation.
• Demonstrated experience installing and commissioning solar PV systems.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards and safety requirements.
• Understanding Ergon Energy's QECM requirements.

Responsibilities

• Installation, testing and commissioning of solar PV systems.
• Installation and commissioning of battery storage systems.
• Installation of EV charging equipment.
• Switchboard upgrades, relocations and replacements.
• Ensuring all installations meet Australian Standards, regulatory requirements and company quality standards.
• Delivering professional, friendly customer service.

The Role

As part of our experienced installation team, you'll work on a variety of renewable energy and electrical projects throughout Far North Queensland.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Installation, testing and commissioning of residential and commercial solar PV systems.
• Installation and commissioning of battery storage systems, subject to appropriate accreditation.
• Working with premium products from Tesla, Sigenergy, Fronius, BYD and other leading manufacturers.
• Installation of EV charging equipment.
• Switchboard upgrades, relocations and replacements.
• Ensuring all installations meet Australian Standards, regulatory requirements and company quality standards.
• Delivering professional, friendly customer service.

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

• Current Queensland Electrical License.
• Current Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) accreditation for solar PV installation.
• Demonstrated experience installing and commissioning solar PV systems.
• Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and electrical safety requirements.
• Understanding of Ergon Energy's QECM requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team.

Highly Desirable

• SAA battery storage accreditation.
• Experience installing Tesla Powerwall, Sigenergy, Fronius or BYD battery systems.
• Experience with hybrid inverters, backup systems and advanced battery configurations.
• Experience with commercial solar installations.
