Job summary

At Silentium Defence, we're driving innovation in passive surveillance technology across Defence, national security, and critical infrastructure. Our sovereign sensing systems deliver covert, cost-effective, and comprehensive situational awareness—and we're growing rapidly.

We are seeking a dedicated Project Manager to join our team in Gepps Cross, South Australia. This permanent, full-time role is focused on delivering software-intensive defence and military projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing our software delivery capability and contributing to national security initiatives.

Your Opportunity
  • Lead and manage multiple software-intensive defence projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including software, systems, and hardware engineering, to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, risk management, and performance metrics.
  • Monitor project progress and implement necessary changes to ensure successful delivery outcomes across development, integration, and deployment.
  • Prepare and present project updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among team members to support delivery alignment and integration activities.
  • Identify and manage risks related to project delivery, integration, and system performance.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to defence and military projects.

You’re organised, dependable, and proactive with excellent follow-through. You enjoy solving complex delivery challenges and know how to balance technical, commercial, and customer priorities. You’re equally comfortable working with software engineers, systems engineers, manufacturing teams, and senior stakeholders. You understand that successful projects rely on communication, planning, and bringing multidisciplinary teams together to deliver outstanding outcomes.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in project management, preferably within software, defence, or technology environments.
  • Experience managing software delivery activities, including development, integration, and deployment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software delivery methodologies.
  • Understanding of defence industry standards and regulations.
  • Australian Citizenship.
