Job summary

Dentsu International Americas is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Cloud and Platforms Engineering team on a programme delivering AI-driven marketing products. You will own features from design to production, including tests, monitoring and handover.

The role spans cloud, data and AI work across dentsu infrastructure and client clouds, prioritising portability, security and cost. Hybrid role in Sydney or Melbourne with flexible work options.

As Software Engineer , you'll join our Cloud and Platforms Engineering team on a new programme of work to build a portfolio of AI-driven marketing products that that will deliver value for our clients. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of software development processes, being able to take delivery ownership of a defined piece of work and own it from design through to production and ongoing operation. This includes any tests, monitoring and documentation that are needed for handover.

Much of what the team builds must work both on dentsu infrastructure and inside a client's own cloud, so portability, security and cost are design considerations rather than afterthoughts. The engineer works within the architecture and standards set by senior engineers, sits alongside data engineers and data scientists, and is accountable for their work being correct, observable and operable.

This is a permanent role, working on a hybrid model in Melbourne or Sydney.

Core responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain cloud native applications and services that support data, analytics and AI solutions.
• Develop and deploy scalable software solutions using modern engineering practices, pipelines and cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and Data Scientists to ensure solutions are reliable, observable and production ready.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and help solve complex technical challenges across platforms, integrations and cloud environments.
• Support the ongoing optimisation, monitoring and performance of software products from development through to deployment.

A bit about you

• Experience building end to end software products rather than solely supporting or maintaining existing systems.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience in one or more modern programming languages and cloud platforms.
• Exposure to cloud infrastructure, software systems, automation or platform engineering practices.
• Curiosity, adaptability and a desire to work across software engineering, cloud services, data and emerging AI technologies.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical decisions and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
