Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Sydney is seeking a talented Software Development Engineer to build, enhance, and operate our internet outbound traffic controller, ensuring optimal customer experience during high-traffic events. You will participate in architecture decisions and own platform operations to deliver scalable, reliable software for a global customer base.

You will collaborate with software and network engineers, stay current on technical knowledge, and drive high-quality improvements

Qualifications

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
2+ years of design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Work backwards from the customer to translate complex functional and technical requirements into software designs.
Influence your leadership on feature and enhancement prioritization.
Develop and deliver high-quality improvements and features on time.
Stay current on technical knowledge to keep pace with rapidly changing technology, and work with the team to bring new technologies on board.
