Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize automated data pipelines and DataOps practices. You will implement reliable CI/CD workflows and deployment processes to support analytics, digital products, and operational systems.

You will drive quality and scalability by instituting data quality controls, monitoring, and governance while collaborating with stakeholders to manage complex integrations across evolving data platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience engineering automated data pipelines at scale with DataOps and CI/CD.
• Cloud platforms, automation and observability tools essential.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience and cloud/DataOps certifications.

About you

• You will bring demonstrated experience in engineering and operating automated data pipelines at scale, with strong capability applying DataOps and CI/CD practices to deliver reliable, high‑performing and secure data solutions in complex enterprise environments.
• You will also have hands‑on skills in cloud platforms, automation and observability tools are essential, along with the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience and cloud or DataOps certifications.
