Job summary

Energy Bay Funds Management in Richmond, VIC, is seeking a proactive Software Developer to join our IT team. This permanent role reports to Systems and Technology Manager and offers the chance to apply React, ASP.NET APIs, and Azure to modernise our web platforms.

You will collaborate with retail operations and stakeholders, focusing on scalable, user-friendly interfaces, robust back-end services, and cloud-driven solutions to advance the energy transition.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months of software development experience.
  • Strong programming languages, database management and web applications knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop fully functional web interfaces with strong UX.
  • Design and develop responsive web interfaces with intuitive UX.
  • Write clean, maintainable code using modern front-end frameworks like React.
  • Optimize performance across front-end and back-end systems.
  • Build and maintain scalable ASP.NET APIs and microservices.
  • Enhance database performance with SQL Server design and queries.
  • Leverage Azure services including Functions, App Services, and API Management.
  • Apply user-centric design to deliver seamless digital experiences.

About the Role

A truly exciting permanent opportunity reporting to Systems and Technology Manager we’re looking for a proactive and engaging Software Developer to join our collaborative IT team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain deep insights into the renewable energy sector while driving business process improvements through a blend of technical expertise, problem solving, and project management.

The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker and a self-starter with a mindset capable of managing multiple priorities, and thrive in a close-knit, fast-paced team environment across our retail operations teams and key stakeholders across the Energy Bay brand.

As a Software Developer with Energy Bay you will be responsible for:

  • Developing fully functional web interfaces that are visually appealing and provide an intuitive user experience (UX).
  • Design and develop responsive, visually engaging web interfaces with intuitive UX.
  • Write clean, maintainable code using modern front-end frameworks like React.
  • Optimise performance across front-end and back-end systems.
  • Build and maintain scalable ASP.NET APIs and microservices.
  • Enhance database performance through efficient SQL Server query and schema design.
  • Leverage Azure services including Functions, App Services, and API Management.
  • Apply user-centric design principles to deliver seamless digital experiences.

You will be successful in the role if you possess:

  • Minimum 6 months of experience in software development or a related role.
  • Strong skills and understanding of programming languages, database management, and web applications
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and solutions-focused with excellent attention to detail.
  • Passionate about clean energy and contributing to a purpose-driven team.
  • Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience working with SQL and relational databases
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS, unit testing frameworks and best practices
