Job summary

Department for Child Protection in Adelaide is seeking a Social Worker (Allied Health Professional) or Child Protection Worker (Professional Officer) to assess placement requests and optimise care for children and young people. The role sits in the Placement Services team in Adelaide, requiring strong social work knowledge and adherence to policy to safeguard vulnerable youth.

The successful candidate will be offered a dual classification with AHP1 or PO1, a term engagement, and allowances

Qualifications

• AHP positions require a Social Work qualification and AASW eligibility.
• PO positions require qualifications in Community Services, Social Sciences, Human Services or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Respond to notifications of placement requests following policy.
• Refer placement requests to government and non-government partners timely.
• Provide assistance in placement referral processes with QA focus.
• Implement guidance from senior stakeholders to understand children's needs.
• Assess work practices and identify improvements using evidence-based solutions.
