Job summary

RSM Australia seeks an experienced SMSF Manager to lead the SMSF team in Albury and oversee compliance and advisory services. The role mentors staff, builds client relationships, and drives growth across the practice. Remote working arrangements within Australia are considered to accommodate the right candidate.

You will apply SMSF legislation and prepare financial statements while ensuring deadlines are met and quality remains high, in a collaborative Partners-led environment.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years' experience in Professional Services with SMSF focus.
• Experience leading or managing a team.
• Strong knowledge of SMSF legislation and compliance requirements.
• Experience using Class Super (CLASS).
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating within a team.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Exposure to client relationship management and business development activities.

Responsibilities

• Review SMSF work papers and ensure appropriate evidence is documented before files progress to audit.
• Apply SMSF legislation, regulations, and relevant case law to client circumstances.
• Review and oversee the preparation of SMSF financial statements and compliance obligations.
• Ensure all lodgement and reporting deadlines are achieved.
• Manage team workflow and allocate work effectively across the SMSF function.
• Provide coaching, mentoring and technical guidance to team members.
• Share industry knowledge, market trends and best practices across the team.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying value-add opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with Partners on client matters, workflow management and team development.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and growth opportunities within the practice.
