Job summary

Civmec Construction & Engineering Pty Ltd in Australia seeks an experienced SMP Supervisors for the BHP Bucket Wheel Reclaimer Upgrade project, delivering critical work across a major mining operation. Bring your safety focus and team mindset and gain consistent work and long-term stability.

Reporting to the Construction Superintendent, you will lead SMP crews, coordinate mechanical, piping, structural and rigging activities, and mentor tradespeople while driving progress toward milestones.

Qualifications

• S26 Certification - Mandatory.
• Trade qualification in Pipefitting, Boilermaking (highly regarded).
• Tickets in Rigging and Scaffolding (highly regarded).
• First Aid & CPR.
• Proven experience supervising SMP works in major construction or heavy industry (highly regarded).
• Experience overseeing piping installation, commissioning and structural/mechanical assembly.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise SMP crews across the BWR7 workfront.
• Coordinate mechanical, piping, structural and rigging activities.
• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with site requirements.
• Monitor daily progress and help deliver project milestones.
• Work closely with engineering, quality and commissioning teams.
• Mentor and support tradespeople and leading hands
