UNANDERRA MOWER CENTRE (Stihl Unanderra) is seeking a skilled Small Engine Mechanic to service and repair outdoor power equipment at our Unanderra, NSW location. This full-time role involves diagnosing faults, performing maintenance, and providing high-quality service to customers.

Based in Unanderra, NSW, you will work on ride-on mowers, lawn mowers, chainsaws, generators and more, with opportunities for ongoing training on leading brands and equipment models.

Formación

• Proven experience as a small engine mechanic or outdoor power equipment technician, including Ride-ons.
• Strong technical knowledge of two-stroke and four-stroke engines and their components.
• A methodical and detail-oriented approach with good problem-solving skills.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnosing and repairing faults in small engines used in outdoor power equipment with a focus on ride on mowers and other garden machinery.
• Performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, spark plug servicing and seasonal preparation.
• Conducting thorough inspections of equipment to identify potential issues and recommend preventative maintenance solutions.
• Assembling and testing repaired or serviced equipment to ensure it meets standards and operational requirements.
• Maintaining accurate service records and documentation for all work completed.
• Communicating effectively with customers about repair requirements, timescales and costs.
• Keeping workspaces clean and organised.
• Staying current with new equipment models, technologies and repair techniques through ongoing training.

Small Engine Mechanic - Outdoor Power Equipment

UNANDERRA MOWER CENTRE (Stihl Unanderra) is seeking a skilled and experienced Small Engine Mechanic - Outdoor Power Equipment to join our team in Unanderra, NSW. This is a full-time position based at our Unanderra location. In this role, you will be at the heart of our service operations, providing expert maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of small engines and outdoor power equipment. You will play a vital part in ensuring our customers receive reliable, high-quality service that keeps their equipment running smoothly and safely. Suit Plant type mechanic with repairs to be completed on mowers, ride on mowers, handheld equipment, generators and more.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnosing and repairing faults in small engines used in outdoor power equipment with a focus on ride on mowers also including lawn mowers, chainsaws, generators and other garden machinery
• Performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, spark plug servicing and seasonal preparation of equipment
• Conducting thorough inspections of equipment to identify potential issues and recommend preventative maintenance solutions
• Assembling and testing repaired or serviced equipment to ensure it meets standards and operational requirements

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a small engine mechanic or outdoor power equipment technician including Ride-ons
• Strong technical knowledge of two-stroke and four-stroke engines and their components
• Abilities with belt fitting and hydrostatic drive issues.
• Ability to diagnose issues with ride on mower decks and pulleys
• Knowledge of basic electrical systems
• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools commonly used in engine repair and maintenance
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams and service bulletins
• Sound understanding of engine diagnostics and troubleshooting
• A methodical and detail-oriented approach to work with strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Relevant qualifications or certifications in small engine repair, mechanics or a related discipline are highly valued
• Experience with Stihl, Honda, MTD, Toro, Victa equipment or other leading outdoor power equipment brands is a bonus
