Job description

North Shore Veterinary Specialist & Emergency Centre is an established referral hospital located in the heart of Sydney, providing leading specialist care 24 / 7, 365 days a year.

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from a Neurologist who is looking to join the team and establish a dedicated neurology department.

About us

North Shore Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Centre is a purpose-built facility, with specialists in critical care, internal medicine, surgery, oncology, anaesthesia, dermatology, exotics, and a progressive general practice.

We have on site radiographers, visiting radiologists, rotating and stream specific interns as well as experienced specialty nursing and support staff.

Our state-of-the-art facilities, include comprehensive in-house laboratory, advanced diagnostic imaging facilities with ultrasound, digital radiographs, 128 Slice GE CT scanner and 1.5T Siemen MRI on site, four custom-designed theatres, fluoroscopy and a fully equipped Emergency and Critical Care service including ICU and multiple mechanical ventilators.

The Opportunity

We are looking for someone to develop and lead our neurology department.

You will have the opportunity to collaborate with our team of highly regarded specialists to establish the neurology service and provide oversight of neurological cases, medical and surgical, throughout the hospital.

About you

To be successful in this role, it is important that you are a recognised board-certified Neurology Specialist and are eligible for Specialist Registration with the Australian Veterinary Practitioners Board.

We would also welcome enquiries from registrars who have completed their residency training and are in the process of sitting their appropriate Board examinations.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual, who can build a comprehensive neurology service.

We are looking for someone to provide mentorship for our rotating and stream specific interns as well as encourage research initiatives within the hospital.
