About the Role

We are seeking experienced Plant Operator, 3× Road Workers/​Labourers, and 2× MR Truck Drivers to join a regional infrastructure team supporting road construction and maintenance programmes in the Narrandera areas. Working as part of a dedicated field crew, this role contributes directly to the upkeep and improvement of key road networks.

  • Plant Operator – $45.69 / hr + super (90 % of time working away from home, allowances and accommodation provided)
  • MR Truck Drivers – $45.69 / hr + super

Road Workers – $42.43 / hr + super

  • 8.5 hours/day, 76 hours/fortnight, 9‑day fortnight
  • Contract length: 6 months, potential for extension depending on the project
  • Must reside in the Narrandera region
  • Willingness to work overtime and attend callouts as needed
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks safely and efficiently
  • Must pass a National Police Background Check
  • Commitment to following workplace safety standards and procedures
Key Responsibilities
Plant Operator
  • Operate multi‑tyre roller and assist with other plant equipment as needed
  • Support road sealing and maintenance activities across various regional locations
  • Perform manual handling tasks such as setting and removing sticks and stops
  • Ensure work is carried out safely and efficiently in line with project standards
  • Conduct pre‑start checks, basic maintenance, and cleaning of plant equipment
  • Follow traffic control procedures and site safety requirements
  • Work collaboratively with team members in remote and camp‑based settings
  • Maintain accurate records of work activities and equipment use
MR Truck Drivers
  • Safely operate and maintain MR vehicles, transporting crew members and equipment to and from worksites
  • Undertake a range of road maintenance tasks including pothole and pavement repairs, roadside clean‑up, and installation of signage and guideposts
  • Assist in traffic management set‑up and pack‑down at worksites
  • Conduct routine vehicle and equipment inspections to ensure compliance and safety standards
  • Attend call‑outs and provide responsive support for urgent maintenance issues
  • Collaborate closely with the team leader and field crew to complete assigned works efficiently
  • Promote safe working practices and contribute to a positive, team‑oriented environment
Road Workers
  • Perform general labouring and road maintenance tasks under supervision, using hand and power tools
  • Assist skilled operators and drivers with repair and installation works including pavement patching, signage, and barrier maintenance
  • Support traffic control operations and ensure safe site set‑up for workers and the public
  • Carry out cleaning and removal of debris, rubbish, and vegetation from roadsides
  • Participate in scheduled maintenance programmes and emergency response activities
  • Operate small plant and equipment safely as required
  • Maintain work areas in accordance with WHS standards and environmental requirements
About You
Plant Operator
  • Valid White Card and current MR or higher driver’s licence
  • Worksite Traffic Management (WOF) and Traffic Controller (TC) tickets
  • Proven experience operating rollers, particularly multi‑tyre rollers
  • Strong understanding of road sealing and surface preparation techniques
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual outdoor labour
  • Willingness to camp away from home for extended periods (allowances and accommodation provided)
Road Workers
  • Previous experience in road maintenance, construction, or general labouring preferred
  • Current car licence (c‑class) required; MR licence desirable
  • Valid White Card and WOF certification
  • Traffic Control (TC) ticket or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality workmanship
  • Strong physical fitness and ability to work in varying weather conditions
  • Positive attitude with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
MR Truck Drivers
  • Proven experience operating medium rigid (MR) vehicles in road, civil, or maintenance environments
  • Current MR driver licence or higher (essential)
  • Valid White Card and Workers on Foot (WOF) certification
  • Traffic Control (TC) ticket or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
  • Sound understanding of WHS practices and safety procedures
  • Ability to perform physical labour and work effectively in outdoor regional environments
  • Reliable, team‑oriented, and capable of following directions with minimal supervision
  • Current National Police Check (or willingness to undergo prior to commencement)
  • Full working rights in Australia – Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid long‑term working visa (sponsorship unavailable)
