Job summary

Koppen Construction in Cairns and Regional Queensland is seeking motivated and reliable Civil Construction Labourers to join our growing team. This hands-on role covers road works, pipe laying, water/sewer projects, and earthworks across Cairns and Far North Queensland, with travel to regional sites as required.

You will work with a safety-focused crew, follow site procedures, and contribute to quality outcomes while building lasting career opportunities through ongoing training and development.

Qualifications

• Minimum experience in civil construction or roadworks.
• Current Construction White Card.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transport.
• Experience using hand and power tools (grinders, jackhammers, compactors).
• Willingness to travel and work away from home on regional projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in road construction and road maintenance across Cairns and Far North Queensland.
• Support pump station, water and sewer infrastructure projects.

The Opportunity

Koppen Construction is seeking motivated and reliable Skilled and Experienced Civil Construction Labourers to join our growing team.

This is a hands-on role working across a diverse range of projects throughout Cairns and Far North Queensland, including:

• Road construction and road maintenance
• Pump station construction and maintenance
• Water and sewer infrastructure
• Stormwater drainage
• Pipe laying and underground services
• Civil earthworks and subdivisions
• Concrete works and reinstatement
• General civil construction and infrastructure projects

We complete both local Cairns-based work and regional remote projects, so successful applicants must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in civil construction, roadworks, pipe laying, water, sewer, stormwater, earthworks, or subdivisions
• Current Construction White Card
• Current Driver's Licence and reliable transport
• Experience using hand and power tools, including grinders, jackhammers, compactors, and similar equipment
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions
• Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
• Willingness to travel and work away from home on regional and remote projects when required

Highly Regarded

• Experience in road construction and road rehabilitation projects
• Pipe laying and trench work experience
• Concrete construction experience
• Experience working around live water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure
• Excavator, skid steer, roller, or loader operating experience/ tickets

• Confined Space Entry ticket
• Working at Heights ticket
• Additional civil construction tickets and qualifications
