Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Project Engineer to execute service projects on turbines, compressors and generators across industrial sites in Australia. The role focuses on adherence to quality, safety and customer satisfaction while supporting project teams and ensuring accurate documentation.

You will work with technical leads, site supervisors and project managers to drive corrective actions, improve processes and participate in digitalization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a relevant trade certificate.
• Good technical knowledge with exposure to rotating equipment.
• Strong customer service and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow Siemens Energy procedures for Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) and IFRs, completing and signing forms.
• Provide on-site technical support to Project Manager, Site Superintendent and Site Supervisors, ensuring quality documentation is transferred to the master record.
• Collaborate with technical leads to advise the customer on findings or non-conformances and agree on corrective actions.
• Raise IFRs for findings, obtain customer acknowledgment before rectification, and ensure actions have ITPs.
• Supervise off-site work and ensure Change Orders and Variations have ITPs and signed records before commissioning.
• Assist in preparing and implementing the project Quality Plan and contribute to continuous site process improvements and digitalization.

As a Project Engineer you would be required to be involved with executing service projects on Siemens Energy turbines, compressors and generators, with minimal supervision, ensuring compliance with customer satisfaction, quality and safety standards while supporting specialized project teams. Siemens Energy provides our customers with best‑in‑class services and solutions for complex rotating equipment. These services include the provision of Turnkey field service overhaul solutions, modernization and upgrades to ensure that our customers’ critical infrastructure continues to provide reliable and efficient performance. These services and solutions are geared towards our OEM equipment and include steam turbines, gas turbines, aero derivative gas turbines, generators and compressors. How You’ll Make An Impact

• Follow Procedures: Ensure Siemens Energy procedures for Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) and Inspection and Finding reports (IFR) are adhered to, and all relevant protocols and forms are completed and signed.
• Technical Support: Provide on-site technical support for Project Manager, Site Superintendent, and Site Supervisors, ensuring quality documentation is correctly completed and data is transferred to the master digital record.
• Customer Collaboration: Work with Siemens Energy technical leads and supervisors to make recommendations to the customer regarding findings or non‑conformances, and secure agreement on actions to be taken.
• Corrective Actions: Raise IFRs for any findings, ensure customer acknowledgment before rectification, and confirm corrective actions have ITPs and meet required standards.
• Supervision and Documentation: Supervise off‑site work, ensure all Change Orders and Variations have ITPs, and confirm all ITPs and record sheets are signed off before commissioning works.
• Continuous Improvement: Assist in preparing and implementing the project Quality Plan, ensuring all contractual and OEM requirements are met, and contribute to the continuous improvement of site processes and digitalization initiatives.

What You Bring

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a Trade Certificate with relevant experience.
• Good technical knowledge, ideally with exposure to rotating equipment.
• Basic understanding of commercial and contractual matters.
• Good customer service and relationship skills.
• Able to work independently when required.
• Detail‑oriented with an understanding of processes and documentation; comfortable using English; full working rights in Australia required.
