ACCIONA is leading the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission project in Australia. We seek a dedicated Site Engineer - Civil to join our Energy Hubs and Substations Teams, overseeing quality, safety, and delivery for high-voltage infrastructure to support solar and wind generation.

The role involves on-site duties, capital planning, and collaboration with joint venture partners. Bus-in-bus-out camp-style accommodation is provided on a roster basis from the Central West

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or relevant tertiary education.
• Experience constructing outdoor air insulated substations and substations at 220kV or above.
• Tier 1 contractor experience preferred on large-scale projects.
• 1–3 years post graduate experience in construction/engineering environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others.
• Ability to establish and steward delivery work plans.
• Ensure all relevant regulatory requirements are satisfied.
• Competent in planning and organising work schedules.
• Working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality and environmental aspects of the project are addressed for delivery.
• Record non-conformances and initiate corrective actions promptly.
• Complete outstanding defects per program.
• Prepare Inspection Test Reports and checklists reflecting contract requirements.
• Support material/resource planning for the project and construction practices.
• Assist the Project Engineer with development of construction planning documents and monitor implementation.
• Maintain project schedule by monitoring progress and coordinating activities.
• Assist with preparing project status reports and change orders.
• Assess progress daily and prepare plan of works for daily cost planning meetings.
• Ensure contract requirements are satisfied at work crew level.
• Coordinate resource allocation and foster teamwork and positive attitude toward objectives.
• Track subcontractor resources daily and record accurately.
• Prepare cost plans/resources for daily cost planning meetings.

ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, has been appointed network operator by EnergyCo to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network. The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), the design and construct (D&C) consortium, will design and build the Central-West Orana REZ transmission project.

The Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Transmission Project will build new high-capacity transmission lines, energy hubs and supporting infrastructure to transfer power generated by solar and wind projects to electricity consumers. The new infrastructure is expected to be operational by 2028 and will initially unlock up to 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity.

The project consists of 90km of 500kV overhead transmission lines and 150 km of 330kV transmission lines for generator connections, stretching from Elong Elong in the west through to Barigan Creek in the east, via an energy hub at Merotherie.

The Central-West Orana project is currently seeking a dedicated Site Engineer - Civil to share their expertise within our growing Energy Hubs and Substations Teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all quality and environmental aspects of the project are addressed to maintain effective operation and project delivery.
• Ensures non-conformances are recorded and corrective actions initiated as soon as practically possible.
• Completes all outstanding defects as required by the program.
• Prepares Inspection Test Reports and checklists that accurately reflect contract requirements.
• Provide support on planning the use of materials, resources, components or systems within the project, and construction practices and problems to ensure project success, value for money and best practice are achieved.
• Assist the Project Engineer with development of construction planning documents and monitor implementation.
• Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress and coordinating activities.
• Assist with preparing project status reports and change orders.
• Assesses progress daily and prepares plan of works for daily cost planning meeting (if held)
• Responsible and accountable to ensure that the requirements of the Contract are being satisfied at work crew level.
• Coordinate resource allocation with the expectation that you would encourage effective teamwork and foster a positive attitude toward the achievement of organisational objectives.
• Tracks subcontractor resources daily and record accurately
• Prepares cost plan/resources for daily cost planning meeting.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Bachelor's degree (Engineering) Civil or Relevant Tertiary Education
• Experience constructing outdoor air insulated substations and substations at 220kV or above
• Tier 1 Contractor experience is preferred, on large scale projects
• Preferable 1 to 3 years post graduate experience in a construction / engineering environment
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others.

Site Engineer positions are bus in bus out, in camp style accommodation provided for 14 days onsite and 7 days off site, on a roster-based arrangement out of the Central West Orana Region, Merotherie.
