John Holland Pty Ltd seeks Site Engineers for the Inland Rail I2S project in regional New South Wales. You will support planning, coordinate subcontractors, ensure quality and OHS compliance, and contribute to progress reporting across earthworks to structures.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree with Australian project experience, preferably from Tier 1/2 contractors, and are proficient with Aconex and Microsoft Office to manage on-site governance and documentation.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required or equivalent.
• Postgraduate qualifications are an advantage but not essential.
• Experience delivering Australian civil projects.
• Ideally having worked for a Tier 1 or 2 contractor.
• Proficiency with on-site software and Aconex preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure compliance with technical specs, legislation, approvals and standards.
• Plan and program short- to intermediate-term construction activities for approval.
• Input on-site design and recommend changes to facilitate construction.
• Resolve engineering issues and determine construction methods.
• Assist with budgeting, cost control and subcontractor variations.
• Maintain drawing registers and communicate risk controls.
• Report on project performance, compliance and defects.
• Perform safety, environment and quality risk assessments for structures.

We currently require Site Engineers for the I2S project in regional NSW, This role has various scopes of responsibility ranging from earthworks to structures. Your role will be pivotal in supporting the broader construction teams with planning works, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring quality, OHS and environment deliverables are met, and construction progress reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance of the works with technical specifications, applicable legislation, approvals and standards and JHG SQE Risk Management process
• Conduct and administer overall job planning and programming including short range and intermediate activities for construction projects for approval by the Project Manager
• Input information and undertake minor design on site and monitor and recommend changes to design details to increase the ease of construction
• Exercise professional judgement in resolving engineering issues, i.e. construction methods, design, engineering procedures, etc.
• Demonstrate financial management skills including demonstrated behaviour in reducing costs and meeting budgets
• Verify subcontractors’ claims and variations
• Undertake cost controlling and estimating as required by the Site Manager
• Maintain drawing register controls for the project Implement and communicate risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects
• Demonstrate skills in reporting on project performance, compliance and defects and/or non-conformance
• Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes

What You will Need

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Postgraduate qualifications are an advantage but not essential.
• Experience in delivering Australian civil projects
• Ideally, previous experience working for a Tier 1 or 2 Contractor
• Skills in relevant computer software packages; Microsoft Suite etc. are essential. Experience with Aconex will be advantageous.

About The Project

The Project

John Holland has recently been awarded the Illabo to Stockinbingal section of Inland Rail in NSW. The Illabo to Stockinbingal section is about 39km of new rail corridor located within the local government areas of Junee and Cootamundra-Gundagai. It will provide a direct route from east of Illabo, tracking north to Stockinbingal and connecting into the existing Forbes rail line.
Illabo to Stockinbingal is a DIDO Project, accommodation is provided on the 2:1 (2 weeks on / 1 week off) roster.
If you move to within an hour of Stockinbingal / Cootamundra, the Project will contribute (in line with the relocation policy) towards your relocation.
