Job summary

Empowered Recruitment is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a government infrastructure delivery team working across regional road and Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) projects in Queensland. This 16-month contract is a hands-on delivery role supporting project managers, supervisors, site crews and subcontractors.

You will provide practical engineering support to deliver projects safely, efficiently and to required specifications and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience delivering road or civil infrastructure projects.
  • Strong on-site engineering and construction capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating construction activities, subcontractors and site resources
  • Assisting with project planning, programming and delivery
  • Monitoring progress against programme and project requirements
  • Completing quality documentation, inspections and project records
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical requirements
  • Assisting with quantities, procurement, variations and cost tracking
  • Supporting safety, environmental and quality compliance
  • Identifying and resolving technical and construction issues
  • Working closely with project managers, supervisors and delivery teams
  • Supporting practical completion, handover and project close-out

Regional Road Infrastructure & DRFA Projects

An opportunity is available for an experienced Site Engineer to join a government infrastructure delivery team working across regional road and Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) projects.

This is a hands-on delivery role working closely with project managers, supervisors, site crews, subcontractors and technical stakeholders. You will provide practical engineering support to help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with the required specifications and quality standards.

Offering a 16-month contract and exposure to a strong programme of regional works, this role would suit an engineer looking to build further experience delivering road infrastructure within a government environment.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating construction activities, subcontractors and site resources
  • Assisting with project planning, programming and delivery
  • Monitoring progress against programme and project requirements
  • Completing quality documentation, inspections and project records
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical requirements
  • Assisting with quantities, procurement, variations and cost tracking
  • Supporting safety, environmental and quality compliance
  • Identifying and resolving technical and construction issues
  • Working closely with project managers, supervisors and delivery teams
  • Supporting practical completion, handover and project close-out
About You

You will ideally have:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Previous experience delivering road or civil infrastructure projects
  • Strong site-based engineering and construction experience
  • An understanding of civil construction specifications and quality systems
  • The ability to interpret drawings, specifications and construction programmes
  • Strong communication, reporting and coordination skills
  • A practical approach to resolving site and construction issues
  • The flexibility to travel to regional project sites when required

Previous experience delivering TMR, government or DRFA-funded projects will be highly regarded.
