Job summary

SeaLink South Australia is seeking a permanent full-time Maintenance Technician to support the Maintenance Technical Manager from our Cape Jervis base, with occasional travel to Penneshaw (KI). You will bring a broad marine maintenance skill set, preferably a diesel fitter/mechanical trade, and a willingness to work flexibly to meet tight maintenance schedules.

Qualifications

• Essential: Certificate in Mechanical Trade (Diesel fitter, electrical, refrigeration or plumbing).
• Experience servicing and inspecting commercial vessels with preventative maintenance.
• Proficient with MEX fleet management software or similar.
• Current open driver’s licence – essential.
• Current National Police Clearance – essential.
• Provide First Aid – essential.
• Forklift licence – desirable.
• Working at Heights – desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and repair vessels and infrastructure.
• Conduct regular testing and inspections of vessels and machinery.
• Respond to emergency and breakdown maintenance promptly.
• Diagnose problems and implement rectifications.
• Identify and report maintenance issues for preventative management.
• Maintain complete maintenance records for compliance.
